This Summer, Questlove and the Roots outfit will be combining with contemporary soul crooner John Legend to produce a disc of cover songs titled “Wake Up.” The album will cover songs from music luminaries like Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Roberta Flack and Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes.
The album is slated to be released this summer, and it will accompany the new Roots LP “How I Got Over” – a project the Philly Hip-Hop band has been working on for some time now. We’ll keep you updated with info about the solid drop date
