This Thanksgiving, Macy’s is adding some new giant balloons to the regular Disney, Snoopy and Charlie Brown characters. They reached out to famed Japanese artist Murakami and asked him to createhuge helium-filled versions of his super-cute Kawai and Kiki creations. So next to Spongebob and the rest of the American faves, Turkey day this way will give us a little inspiration from the east.

Marciano is an exemplary Long Island emcee who has really paid his dues in the game. He was signed by Busta Rhyme’s Flipmode label in the ’90s and came out with a group album with a crew called The UN in 2004.
His latest opus titled “MARCBERG” came out earlier this year, and it contained a whole slew of sparse, lyrically-superior, East Coast bangers. The cats at HipHopDx do a great job by really getting into the biz of this silver-tongued Long Island spitter.

NYC arthouse rappers Das Racist sample the classic ‘Scenario” song by Tribe Called Quest for this catchy new tune. We are loving the whole old-school, 8-bit video game feel – makes us remember those days of yore when my little crew would totally black out on Contra.

NYC Fashion week will soon be upon us and for the 10th of September Fashion Night Out celebrations, Opening Ceremony is releasing these simple yet classy “France” X “America” varsity sweaters. If you’re in NYC – certainly hit the town and party hard (looking fab of course).

Cassandra Wilson is undoubtedly one of the greatest Jazz vocalists alive – her voice is remarkable and unmistakable, and it should probably be listed as one of America’s national treasures.
This November, she drops a new LP titled “Silver Pony” which is a unique hybrid live/studio album composed of live recordings from a European tour and studio recordings laid down at New Orleans’ Piety Street Studios. The album features a mix of jazz/pop classics as well as songs newly-written by Cassandra and her band.

These are a great look for Fall – they sort of look like boots that you would see in a Rick Owens or Odyn Vovk collection. We are especially liking the fold-over detail on the boot’s tongue. Definitely a well-edited and expertly-designed collaboration.
