Most people wouldn’t expect a pop star and fashion icon to have much to contribute to camera development, but here at Collab Society, we know better. This time last year, Lady Gaga took on an unexpected title, Creative Director of Polaroid, and we’ve been looking forward to the results ever since. Yesterday, at the Consumer Electronics Show, they were finally, spectacularly revealed with a suite of products called Grey Label by Haus of Gaga.
Grey label combines Gaga’s unique style and creativivity with Polaroid’s industry expertise to further the fashion and technological progress of photography. Our favorite piece, and the crème de la crème of the collection, is the GL20 Camera Glasses.
Gaga designed and wore sunglasses embedded with iPod screens for her Fame Ball tour, and Polaroid helped her translate the vision into something for more than just show. The GL20s come impressively equipped with two 1.5″ LCD displays, act as a wearable camera, snap pictures, and can be pre-loaded with slideshows and video. They share photos taken in real-time, and appear as a second set of eyes, floating just beneath the wearer’s own, creating a new, revolutionary means of facial expression. Careful though Gaga, a missnap and that will be the end of your poker face…
Available later this year – price unknown. See the rest of the collection and learn more about its development at Fast Company.
