A treasure trove of heritage prints & patterns,
Sanderson Design Group, based just outside of London, houses the largest and most iconic archive in the UK interiors industry. A celebration of unique techniques and print applications, its collection (dating back over 160 years) includes hand painted wallpaper and fabric samples, as well as original wood printing blocks.

Comprised of five diverse brands—Morris & Co., Sanderson, Harlequin, Zoffany, and Scion—you can find the group’s colorful influence in the form of wallpaper, textiles, rugs, tabletop, decor, and more in homes and showrooms around the world.

Morris & Co. was founded in 1861 by William Morris, regarded by some as one of the most outstanding figures of the Arts & Crafts movement. A man with immense interest in the world around him, he was also a poet, artist, philosopher, typographer, and political theorist. Morris started his decorating business to provide affordable “art for all.” The output was prolific, no doubt driven by his boundless enthusiasm.

A contemporary of Morris, designer Arthur Sanderson founded his eponymous, nature-inspired interiors company in 1860. Sanderson takes inspiration primarily from the wonders of the English countryside. Renowned for its floral fabrics, the brand’s legacy centers around beautifully observed, hand-drawn designs. Granted a Royal Warrant in 1923, Sanderson still supplies fabrics, paints, and wall coverings to the Royal Household.

Originally founded as a wallpaper company in 1960, Harlequin has embraced its roots by mastering flamboyant, statement wallpapers featuring imaginative finishes, visionary techniques, and mouthwatering hues. The word Harlequin means “varied in color or decoration,” which sums up the brand’s ethos perfectly. Its captivating collection serves Harlequin’s broader goal of empowering women to express their individuality through color and design.

Zoffany got its start commissioning luxury wall coverings for private homes in 1983; its first collection used innovative techniques to reproduce wallpapers inspired by the Tudor-Jacobean country house Temple Newsam. While its relationship with the past is strong, the brand’s exquisite furnishings lend a sophisticated, elegant air to period and contemporary homes alike.

Home to Mr. Fox, one of the most iconic designs of the last decade, Scion’s distinctive, upbeat perspective has brought joy into homes since 2012. Taking cues from a clean Scandinavian aesthetic, the wholeheartedly British brand offers bold, playful decorations in zesty colors for a fresh approach to modern living.

With a shared appreciation for eclectic interiors, a partnership between Collab Society and Sanderson Design Group seemed kismet; it was Pamela Berick’s friend who introduced the teams. Both are excited to bring the inimitable personality of British heritage design stateside with exclusive products in new categories, working in part through Sanderson Design Group’s US office in New Jersey.
